Problem: Locked your drive with bitlocker, reinstalled OS or installed a different os now bitlocker won't open drive even with correct Password or Key? [Solved]
Comments: if you are facing the same problem which I did, than you are on right place. ***Note*** this post is only helpful for those persons who actually have the correct key or password of encrypted drive but somehow are unable to open it.
Solution:
The first and best solution for it is to install the same version or copy of Windows on which you had encrypted your drive, installing same copy will make if work, same means exactly same ;) If you can't do so then there are work arounds,
The first two work arounds are by using Windows Power Shell, but i didn't find those enough helpful so wouldn't recommend you those, the one i found most helpful is here
Working Method
Things you need
1- Bitlocker Key
2-M3 Bitlocker Recovery Software [You can download it, recovers 100mb data free than you have to buy a license, or simply Google it ;) ]
3- Free space equal to your Data,
First of all grab a cup of tea or coffee ;) don't like it? Skip through :P
Install M3 Bitlocker Recovery, any version you like
Open it and select the drive you are looking to recover data from
Put your recovery key
After some scanning it'll show the files in Drive,
Click the Drive or Select files you want to recover
Chose location where you want to copy said files
And Bingo ;) You're Done
